“Landmand is the first 18-hole project for Collins and partner Tad King and it is as equally spectacular as Caprock Ranch in an entirely different way. Built not in sandhills but on Loess Hills, towering dunes of loamy soil with no rock...Enormous cuts and fills at Landmand turn steep hills into gentle, walkable, playable grades on an astonishing scale I’ve never witnessed on any golf course. 100-yard wide fairways seem skinny when positioned beneath towering hills left and right...What is most exciting is that Landmand will be open to the public. Only four holes sodded so far, so it won’t open probably until 2022. When it does, the golf world will be stunned by the enormity of its scale, its beauty, its bunkering (by Jeff Bradley). Did I say Caprock will push Sand Hills on anyone’s 100 Greatest? Hell, I predict Landmand will push them both. Nebraska has suddenly become the hot bed of golf design in America.”
